‘Sinners’ Review: Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan Deliver Again

Gangster twins, their blues prodigy of a younger cousin, and heated, disparate lovers meet bloodthirsty destinies on a fateful Mississippi night in Sinners. This fifth collaboration between writer/director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan (after Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther and its sequel) is a well-acted, supremely entertaining thriller with stunning production values. Sinners brilliantly illustrates Black life in the violent and poverty-stricken Jim Crow-segregated South while portraying a vibrant cultural landscape brimming with musical fellowship. Toss a ruthless vampire antagonist into the mix and the result is a must-see blockbuster that will blow audiences out of their chairs.
