Television series aren’t what they used to be. Before streaming services became mainstream, everyone knew that one season of their favorite show, whether a drama or sitcom, consisted of around 20 episodes. Nowadays, with shows like Dune: Prophecy, seasons are getting shorter and shorter. It was common for a pilot season of a TV show to have at least 10 episodes for production studios to have the assurance that it was a series worth investing more money and time so that by the time a second season was approved, it would consist of 20+ episodes.
