The Boys showrunner, Eric Kripe, has explained how Amazons attempts to pitch the idea of product placement in the series led to one of its most on-the-nose satirical deconstructions yet. The series has become well known for delivering some scathing satirical, but accurate, jabs at corporate entities, including not so subtle digs at their very own financier, Amazon. This is put into full effect in Season 4s most recent episode, Beware the Jabberwock, My Son, which contains a large section where Voughts use of custom-made product placement, and how it helps cater to the diverse interests of an audience, are put on full display.
