Joker: Folie Deux is the long-awaited sequel to 2019’s Joker. The first film, starring Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role, was a success, scoring 89% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter, and grossing over $1 billion worldwide. Given the success of its predecessor, it was only expected that Joker: Folie Deux would follow in the same footsteps. However, the sequel, which was released on October 4, 2024, has taken a rather sour turn and looks on its way to becoming a box office bomb.
