Lena Dunham Exits Polly Pocket Film

Despite years of development, Polly Pocket has hit a major roadblock after losing writer/director, Lena Dunham. Initially launching in 1983, Mattel acquired Polly Pocket in 1998 and made it a popular toy brand known for its small pocket-size traveling case and unique clothing line, which was seen as an equal to Barbie and Bratz in the early 2000s. While Mattel was looking to turn their popular toys into feature films, they turned to Girls creator Lena Dunham to guide their Polly Pocket movie.
