Barbarian was one of the most entertaining yet divisive horror films of 2022, and most horror fans have been clamoring to see what writer/director Zach Cregger will do next. Three years later, Cregger is finally bringing his second film, Weapons, to the big screen this summer. The initial trailer, released this spring, depicted multiple children running out of their homes at exactly 2:17 AM into the empty streets. All the children were shown running oddly, with their arms extended out and pointed down. However, the most unsettling thing about that first trailer is that all the kids who vanished into the night were students in the same elementary school classroom. Only one of the 18 children in that class didn’t disappear.
