After it was reported that the future of Prime Video‘s Citadel was in jeopardy following an executive shake-up at Amazon MGM Studios, it seems the show will indeed return in 2026. However, it will be alone this time around, as both of its spin-offs have been canceled and their storylines will be funneled into Citadel Season 2, which has problems of its own. Produced by the Russo Brothers, Citadel has been a very expensive investment by Amazon, but one that has not paid off so far.
