Alex Garland‘s 2024 dystopian thriller Civil War was an unflinching look at what could be the future of America, and though that film was based on fiction, his new film with co-director Ray Mendoza comes from the latter’s experiences as a former U.S. Navy SEAL. Titled Warfare, the A24 movie is set to release next month, and first reactions from critics who saw an early screening have thus far had nothing but good things to say about it.
