Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological thriller of 1958, Vertigo, is considered one of the greatest films in cinema history. The movie starring James Stewart and Kim Novak is often hailed as the director’s unparalleled masterpiece, despite the mixed reception it had when it was released. As decades passed, it received a complete reevaluation until achieving the status it still holds today. Remaking it seems as pointless as remaking The Godfather, but it does seem to be happening – and even the movie’s writer is aware of how ridiculous it is.
