The ‘70s, ’80s, and ’90s can be described as a golden age of action in cinema. This period birthed most of the greatest action stars of all time. Unfortunately, most of them saw their careers fade in the 2000s. Consequently, the genre became less popular on the big screen. Thankfully, TV showrunners did their best to fill the gap. While there weren’t many “pure action” shows, there were many hybrid productions, aimed at appeasing fans who were craving to see the beatdowns and shootouts that they had gotten used to seeing in earlier decades.
