David Lynch is considered to be one of the greatest directors of all time and has a plethora of films and a television series that affirms the visionary he was. Like any creative, he has films that were highly praised and recognized for innovative storytelling and other films that were received with criticism. Films like Blue Velvet (1986) and Mulholland Drive (2001) were some of his greatest achievements and have cemented him as the great director he’s considered to be today. Since his first film, Eraserhead (1977), cinephiles knew he had created a form of storytelling that would change cinema forever. However, in 1984, Lynch’s rise to fame began to falter when Dune flopped at the box office.
