Prime Video’s latest mystery series, The Edge of Sleep, is a Lovecraftian mixture of classic horror premises related to nightmares. Originally released as a podcast and novel under the same name, the streaming service expertly adapts the story of Dave (played by YouTuber and independent filmmaker Markiplier), an overnight security guard troubled with bad dreams and sleepless nights. One morning after his shift, Dave and his co-worker Matteo (Franz Drameh) discover that everyone who went to sleep the night before has inexplicably died.
