Netflix‘s Woman of the Hour has already proven popular on the streamer, and much of it has to do with its true crime connection. The film depicts the true story of a serial killer named Rodney Alcala (Daniel Zovatto), who appeared on the popular television show The Dating Game in 1978 while he was right in the middle of a notorious murder spree. The appearance would dub him “The Dating Game Killer” and make him one of the most infamous serial killers of all time. It’s one of those truth is stranger than fiction stories, but one has to remember, this is still a movie, and even though the true story is salacious and unbelievable in its own right, some liberties have been taken to add drama to the films 94-minute runtime.
