Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe has been a surprise hit among fans. The Batman was regarded as one of the greatest movies in the character’s history by a large portion of the fan base (rivaling Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight) when it released in 2022, despite early criticism of Robert Pattinson’s casting as Bruce Wayne. The Penguin, the first of three initially announced spin-off shows, has also been a major hit. Releasing weekly on HBO and Max, The Penguin has been dubbed as an unofficial successor to The Sopranos and is perhaps one of the best superhero TV shows ever made.
