The Boys features numerous ongoing plot threads in its fourth season, but showrunner Eric Kripke has revealed there are only two characters who can bring the show to a close in its fifth and final season. First debuting in 2019, The Boys is set in a world where superheroes are anything but heroes. Controlled by Vought International, the super-powered beings of The Seven are vain, abusive, and controlling narcissists, who do whatever they want. Standing in their way are the titular Boys, led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban).
