House of the Dragon’s Take on Blood and Cheese, Explained

Anyone familiar with shows from the Game of Thrones universe should be somewhat desensitized now to just how brutal they can be. HBO’s House of the Dragon is so far sticking to the same formula of terrific writing, exquisite performances from highly talented actors, and the kind of drama, intrigue, and intricate plot points that feature violent delights that, in true Shakespearean fashion, often culminate in even more violent ends. That last aspect was never more in focus than it was at the end of Season 2’s opening episode aptly titled “A Son for a Son.”
