The Game of Thrones franchise has done the impossible; it successfully survived the widespread disappointment of the shows final season. In the five years since Game of Thrones wrapped up its concluding eighth season in the summer of 2019, there have been more than a few attempts to bring the franchise back. The first of these, a prequel series titled Bloodmoon, would have been a series centered around the Long Night set 10,000 years before the original Game of Thrones series. That show was ultimately scrapped after HBO was displeased with the pilot episode that was produced.
