Scream VII has hit a major stumbling block. Melissa Barrera, who played Sam Carpenter in both 2022’s Scream and this year’s Scream VI, has been dropped from the franchise after posting a series of social media posts linked to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. While there has been no official statement made by Spyglass at the time of writing, but Deadline confirmed that the actress is out of the seventh movie in the popular slasher franchise.
