If you’re a fan of Taika Waititi’s work, then there is a good chance you may have heard of the show Our Flag Means Death. While not directly created by Waititi, showrunner David Jenkins was inspired to create this show after learning about real-life Pirate Stede Bonnet — dubbed “The Gentleman Pirate” — and attempted to use the show as a way to fill in some of the gaps in his history (while maybe making some stuff up along the way).
