The intersection of art and politics has been a mutually beneficial relationship throughout many cultures in history. While politics often deals with the dynamics of power, art has often been used as a conduit of protest, either by showcasing the problems inherent to a society, or utilizing art as a vehicle for driving social or political change. The great Russian writer Pushkin, for example, may have found great favor among proponents of social reform, but he was also seen as an agitator and disliked by the Tsar at the time.
